No eviction drive in Burrabazar & College Street, clarifies KMC Commissioner
Three members of a family were found dead inside their locked residence in Hyderabad’s Amberpet area on Tuesday, in what police suspect may be a suicide pact. The deceased have been identified as Ram Raj, 55, his wife Madhavi, 50, and their 24-year-old son Shashank. The discovery was made after neighbours alerted authorities when the family failed to respond to repeated knocks and had not been seen for several hours.
Police teams rushed to the spot and entered the house, where the three were found lying lifeless. The bodies were later shifted for postmortem examination. A case of suspicious death has been registered, and investigators have begun examining the circumstances that led to the tragedy.
Preliminary inquiry points towards suicide, though officials said the exact sequence of events is yet to be determined. Investigators are exploring all possible angles, including whether financial strain or personal distress may have driven the family to take the extreme step. Forensic teams have collected material evidence from the residence to reconstruct the events preceding the deaths.
Police are also questioning relatives and neighbours to understand the family’s recent situation and whether there were any visible signs of distress. Officers indicated that more clarity is expected after the postmortem reports are received and further analysis is completed.
No suicide note has been officially confirmed so far, leaving several questions unanswered. The incident has left the neighbourhood in shock, as residents struggle to comprehend how the tragedy unfolded behind closed doors. Authorities said further details will be shared as the investigation progresses.
