Two people were killed in a late-night road accident on the Boler Bazar Bridge in Raidighi block of South 24 Parganas district. The mishap reportedly occurred due to rash and negligent motorcycle riding, leading to a fatal collision that claimed the lives of both riders.
According to preliminary information, one motorcycle was speeding across the Boler Bazar Bridge toward Kedarpur when another bike, also heading in the same direction at high speed, approached from the bridge. While negotiating a turn, the two motorcycles reportedly collided with a roadside structure and crashed onto the road. The impact left both riders critically injured.
Local residents and passersby rushed the injured to Raidighi Hospital during the night. One of the victims died on the way to the hospital, while the other succumbed to injuries during treatment. The identities of the deceased are yet to be established. Police have initiated an investigation and are attempting to identify the victims through the vehicle registration numbers.
