Trouble for Avimukteshwaranand, medical reports confirm sexual assault on minors

The ongoing investigation into sexual harassment allegations against Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati has taken a significant turn with the arrival of the victims' medical reports. According to police sources, the medical examinations conducted on the minor boys at a government hospital in Prayagraj have confirmed instances of sexual assault. A two-doctor panel performed the tests on Wednesday, and the findings were submitted to the investigating officer in a sealed envelope on Thursday, scheduled for presentation in court this Friday.

While the medical report provides clinical evidence of abuse, the police emphasize that identifying the specific perpetrators remains a critical subject of investigation. The authorities are now working to establish the exact timeline and location of these incidents to determine the extent of the involvement of the Shankaracharya and his named aides. Jhunsi Police Station In-charge Mahesh Mishra stated that since the matter is currently sub-judice, further specific details regarding the forensic findings cannot be disclosed to the public at this stage.

In a related development, one of the minor victims has come forward to share his ordeal publicly for the first time. In a media interview, the boy claimed that he was exploited while visiting the ashram for studies, specifically identifying the Shankaracharya and his disciple Mukundanand as the abusers. He further alleged that the abuse continued during the Magh Mela in January and that other children were also targeted. Meanwhile, the complainant, Ashutosh Maharaj, has expressed confidence that the medical confirmation will lead to swift justice for the victims.
