An app-based cab collided with a school pool car near the Lake Town foot bridge on Monday morning, leaving eight students severely shaken though unharmed. The accident occurred around 7:00 am on VIP Road when the pool car, carrying students of Salt Lake Point School from Bangur towards the Lake Town Bailey Bridge, was hit by the cab as it allegedly attempted to reverse.
According to police sources, the impact damaged the pool car, triggering panic among the children inside. Personnel from the Lake Town Traffic Guard reached the spot promptly and ensured that all eight students were safely evacuated from the vehicle. No injuries were reported in the incident.
The accused vehicle has been taken into custody, and further action is being initiated by the Lake Town Police Station. Authorities are examining the circumstances under which the cab attempted to reverse on the busy stretch during peak school hours.
