"Smaller parties shouldn't be prioritized": Sudip Bandyopadhyay hits at TMC
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that military conflict cannot resolve global disputes, stressing that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable path to peace. His remarks come amid the escalating military confrontation between the United States, Israel and Iran that has intensified tensions across West Asia.
Speaking during a joint press briefing with Finnish President Alexander Stubb in New Delhi, the Prime Minister said that India and Finland share a common belief in the rule of law and diplomatic engagement. “India and Finland believe in rule of law, dialogue and diplomacy. Only military conflict cannot solve any issue, whether it is Ukraine or West Asia,” Modi said.
Highlighting the growing instability across different regions, Modi noted that the world is currently facing an uncertain geopolitical environment marked by multiple ongoing conflicts. He added that both countries support efforts aimed at achieving a swift end to wars and promoting global peace through diplomatic channels.
The Prime Minister also underlined the urgent need for reforms in global institutions to address emerging international challenges. According to him, strengthening multilateral frameworks and collective cooperation is essential in ensuring long-term global stability and security.
During the interaction, Modi further emphasised the deepening partnership between India and Europe, stating that cooperation between the two regions is entering a “golden era”. He noted that growing collaboration in trade, technology, infrastructure and sustainability would contribute to global stability, development and shared prosperity.
