Two people were seriously injured in a road accident on Sunday morning near Nicco Park in Bidhannagar after a Rapido bike collided with a four-wheeler. The incident occurred around 9:30 am when the Rapido bike was travelling from Sector 5 towards Chingrighata. According to preliminary reports, a four-wheeler suddenly took a U-turn in front of Nicco Park without giving any signal, leading to a violent collision with the approaching bike.
The Rapido rider, Debu Mandal, and the pillion passenger, Aparna Das, sustained serious injuries in the accident. Traffic police on duty at the spot immediately rushed the injured to Bidhannagar Sub-District Hospital, where they are currently receiving primary treatment.
Police from Bidhannagar South Police Station detained the driver of the four-wheeler and seized the vehicle. Investigators have also begun examining nearby CCTV footage to determine the exact circumstances of the accident. Authorities said further action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
