No eviction drive in Burrabazar & College Street, clarifies KMC Commissioner
A hospital in Mumbai received a bomb threat via email warning of an “IED blast” on the premises at 4:00 PM, prompting an immediate security response and a police investigation. The email, reportedly sent around 11:00 PM on Saturday night, created panic among patients and hospital staff.
Following the alert, the Mumbai Police’s Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) reached the hospital and carried out a detailed inspection of the entire premises. Officials conducted a thorough search of the building to check for any suspicious objects or explosive devices.
Police said that the search operation did not find any explosives or suspicious materials inside the hospital. However, authorities have taken the threat seriously and are currently working to trace the sender of the email.
The incident triggered anxiety inside the hospital as patients and staff awaited the results of the security checks. Police teams remained on the premises during the inspection to ensure safety and maintain order.
In a separate incident earlier this week, the India Meteorological Department office in Hyderabad also received a bomb threat email claiming that 14 RDX bombs had been planted inside the building. Employees were evacuated as bomb and dog squads searched the premises, but nothing suspicious was found. Police registered a case and began an investigation.
