Bengal Govt elevates IPS Ajay Mukund Ranade to DGP (Law and Order)
A 40-year-old man was killed and his brother seriously injured after a violent clash broke out between two groups over setting up a vegetable stall in Reoti town of Uttar Pradesh, police said on Monday.
The incident occurred on Sunday night near a seed warehouse in the town. According to officials, an argument between the two groups escalated into a physical confrontation. During the clash, members of both groups allegedly attacked each other with sticks and iron rods.
Dhanji Turha and his brother Bhulan Turha sustained serious injuries during the assault.Both men were rushed to a nearby government hospital for treatment. Doctors declared Dhanji Turha dead, while his brother continues to receive medical care.
Police said a case has been registered based on a complaint filed by Bhulan Turha. The FIR names Sunil Turha, Meena Devi, Aman Sahni and Kudurni Devi along with several unidentified persons under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Efforts are underway to arrest the accused.
