A 35-year-old lawyer associated with the Patna High Court died in a road accident on National Highway-27 in West Bengal. The deceased, Vaishnavi Singh, was a distant relative of Indian cricketer Ishan Kishan. The accident occurred near Gunjaria Bhangpur, around 20 kilometers from Kishanganj district of Bihar, when the car carrying the family was struck by a truck.
According to details shared by family members, six people were travelling in a luxury car from Siliguri to Patna when the crash took place. Those inside the vehicle included Vaishnavi Singh, her husband Hrithik Thakur, their infant child, her brother-in-law, a domestic helper and the driver. Five passengers, including her husband, sustained injuries in the collision. Family members said a speeding truck rammed the car from the side, causing the vehicle to lose control and crash. The force of the impact was severe, and Vaishnavi Singh died on the spot. The truck driver reportedly fled the scene immediately after the accident.
The injured victims were rushed to the Islampur Sub-District Hospital, where doctors confirmed Vaishnavi Singh’s death. Some of the injured are said to be in critical condition and have been referred for advanced treatment. Police in West Bengal have begun an investigation to trace the truck and its driver.
