A shootout and vandalism incident was reported from Ward No. 35 of Bhatpara Municipality in the Jagaddal Assembly constituency, triggering panic in the Bada Srirampur area. Miscreants allegedly attacked the house of BJP worker Raju Shaw, damaging property and firing shots at the residence, according to the family.
Raju Shaw was reportedly not at home during the incident. The attackers allegedly called his brother Amit Shaw outside and assaulted him. The family claimed that the miscreants fired at the house while carrying out the attack, leaving local residents frightened as incidents of vandalism and firing have been occurring frequently in the area.
After receiving information about the incident, Priyangu Pandey, Vice President of the BJP Barrackpore organizational district, reached the spot. It has been alleged that Raju Shaw had participated in the Barrackpore Parivartan Sankalp Yatra a day earlier, and the attack may have been carried out by local miscreants angered over his participation.
