A large number of identity documents were recovered from two bags in Habibpur of Malda district, triggering concern among local residents and authorities. The bags reportedly contained several PAN cards and Aadhaar cards, raising questions about how the sensitive documents were collected and abandoned in the area.
According to initial information, locals noticed the suspicious bags and informed the police. Officers soon arrived at the spot and recovered the documents, which included numerous identity cards issued under the Unique Identification Authority of India Aadhaar system and PAN cards linked to financial records.
The discovery has sparked speculation about possible misuse of identity documents and potential fraud. Officials said that such documents contain important personal information, making their improper handling a serious matter that requires thorough verification.
