In an unusual case highlighting alleged administrative negligence, a job aspirant in Bihar’s Rohtas district claimed that his admit card for a recruitment examination carried the photograph of a dog instead of his own. The candidate, identified as Ritesh Kumar, had applied for a peon post in the District and Sessions Court after vacancies were announced in 2022.
According to Kumar, the admit card for the preliminary examination scheduled on March 15 was issued nearly four years after the recruitment notification. When he downloaded the document, he was shocked to find that the photograph printed on it was that of a golden retriever instead of his own picture.
Kumar stated that he had uploaded his correct photograph during the application process and has a copy of the acknowledgement slip to support his claim. He alleged that the error has caused embarrassment in his village and made him the subject of ridicule among local residents.
The candidate said he has submitted several complaints to the concerned recruitment board requesting immediate correction of the mistake. However, he claimed that no action has been taken so far even as the examination date approaches.
Kumar has urged the authorities to rectify the error at the earliest so that he can appear for the examination without any complications. The incident has raised questions about lapses in the examination administration process.
