Trinamool MPs protest LPG crisis at Parliament, question PM Modi's absence

Amid reports of LPG shortages across several parts of the country, leaders of the All India Trinamool Congress intensified their protest against the Centre both in the streets and inside Parliament. While the Central Government maintains that gas supplies are sufficient, long queues for cylinders in many areas have triggered political confrontation. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has also announced plans to take to the streets in protest over the issue. 

The agitation was also visible in the national capital, where Trinamool MPs staged a demonstration outside Parliament House in New Delhi. Several female MPs held placards and banners while raising slogans against the Central Government, accusing it of failing to address the problems faced by ordinary citizens due to the LPG supply situation.

During the protest, Trinamool MP Mahua Moitra claimed that operational systems in West Bengal were under strain due to the crisis. She said that the situation had forced many consumers to book gas cylinders manually, causing inconvenience and distress to households dependent on LPG for daily cooking. Another Trinamool MP, Mitali Bag, said the crisis was affecting not only homes but also government-run mid-day meal programmes in schools. As political exchanges intensified, opposition leaders continued to criticise the Centre while many citizens reportedly waited in long queues, even under the scorching sun, hoping to secure LPG cylinders for their households.
