Suvendu Adhikari called on the newly appointed Governor R.N. Ravi at Lok Bhavan on Friday morning. This meeting comes a day after the Governor's swearing-in ceremony, which Adhikari missed due to his prior commitments in Delhi. During the discussion, Adhikari formally urged the Governor to intervene to protect the state's constitutional and democratic values, which he claims are under threat.
Adhikari reportedly expressed deep concern over what he described as the collapse of the four pillars of democracy in West Bengal. He informed the Governor about the "systemic insults" faced by constitutional heads and criticized the state administration's handling of security and event logistics during the International Tribal Conference, where President Droupadi Murmu was in attendance.
During the meeting, the Leader of the Opposition gifted Governor Ravi a saffron shawl and a copy of the holy Bhagwat Gita. RN Ravi, the former Governor of Tamil Nadu, was appointed as Bengal's Governor after the sudden resignation of Dr. CV Ananda Bose.
