A newly married woman went missing from a bus stand in Uttar Pradesh after asking her husband to buy pakodas from a nearby stall. The incident occurred at the Bilari bus stand in Moradabad district, prompting police to register a missing person report and launch an investigation.
The woman, identified as Rimjhim, aged 18, had married Pritam Singh, a resident of Amroha district, on December 1 last year. She had recently visited her parents’ home in Rampur district to celebrate Holi. On March 9, her husband travelled there to bring her back home.
During their journey, the couple stopped at the Bilari bus stand while waiting for the next bus. Rimjhim reportedly told her husband that she was hungry and asked him to buy pakodas from a nearby stall. When Pritam Singh returned a few minutes later, he found that his wife was no longer at the spot.
After searching the bus stand and nearby areas without success, he approached the police and lodged a complaint. In his statement, he told investigators that he suspects his wife may have left with a young man from her parental village.
Police have registered the case and begun examining CCTV footage from around the bus stand. Officials are also checking the woman’s mobile phone location to trace her movements, and further investigation into the incident is underway.
