NIA searches Saokat Molla’s home and party office, son questioned in Bhangar blast case
Frustrated customers of a gas agency at LIC More in Asansol staged a massive protest on Monday, blocking the busy GT Road with empty cylinders. The demonstration, which began in the morning, led to significant traffic congestion on the primary route connecting Asansol to Purulia and Jharkhand. Angry consumers raised slogans against the agency management, alleging that they have been denied refills for the past 15 to 20 days despite repeated bookings and multiple visits to the office.
The protestors claimed that agency officials have been consistently misleading them with promises of delivery "within two days," but no cylinders were ever dispatched. They further alleged that when they arrived at the agency today, no employees were present to address their grievances, and the office phone remained unanswered. This sparked outrage among the residents, who stated that the sudden scarcity has made it nearly impossible for them to cook meals at home, forcing them to take to the streets.
Upon receiving information about the blockade, a team from the Asansol South Police Outpost rushed to the spot to pacify the crowd. The police held discussions with the protestors and the agency representatives to mediate the situation. To clear the blockade, the police administration issued a stern warning to the gas agency, assuring the public that if the pending bookings are not cleared within the next 10 days, the agency would be officially locked down by the authorities.
