'Plane-like' drones spotted at 2 locations in Bengal; villagers panic, probe ordered

Two separate incidents involving mysterious aircraft-like drones in Paschim Medinipur and Bakkhali have triggered curiosity and concern among residents, prompting police investigations into their origin and purpose. In Dantan-I block, a large drone resembling a small aircraft was discovered early Wednesday morning in a paddy field at the Sharshanka Bakultala area, while a similar jet-like device was found later in the day on a beach in Bakkhali.

In Dantan, locals spotted the object around 4 AM, leading to a rapid spread of information and gathering of crowds. Police from the local station reached the site, cordoned off the area, and secured the drone. Officials have begun examining its technical components, including any onboard systems or cameras, to determine how it landed in the field and whether it was part of any authorised operation.

Meanwhile, in Bakkhali, fishermen noticed a yellow and red drone resembling a jet aircraft at the Kargil Sea Beach area while heading out for fishing. The unusual sight created excitement and speculation in the locality. Police recovered the device and initiated a parallel inquiry to ascertain its origin and functionality.

Authorities are exploring multiple possibilities in both cases, including whether the drones belong to a government or private agency, were part of trial operations, or drifted from another region before crashing. No official confirmation has been issued so far, but further technical analysis is underway, and central agencies may be involved if required.
