BJP gherao 'New TMC' MLA Sandipan Saha's house in Entally, protest over 'cut money'
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address 12 massive public rallies across the state, covering diverse geographical and political terrains, said party sources. These rallies are strategically planned in key locations including Cooch Behar, Siliguri, Balurghat, Kharagpur, Kanthi, Purulia, Bankura, Howrah, and Birbhum, along with a significant focus on both North and South 24 Parganas.
The inclusion of locations like Kanthi and Kharagpur underscores the BJP's intent to consolidate its influence in the Medinipur belt, while rallies in North Bengal hubs like Siliguri and Cooch Behar aim to retain the party's traditional strongholds. In the high-stakes South 24 Parganas and North 24 Parganas districts, the Prime Minister's presence is expected to energize the party cadre against the ruling Trinamool Congress. Sources suggest that these 12 rallies will serve as the cornerstone of the BJP's "Parivartan" narrative for the 2026 polls.
Complementing the Prime Minister's efforts, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is also expected to undertake a similarly intensive campaign schedule. Reports indicate that Shah may also address around 12 rallies, focusing on organizational strength and micro-level booth management across the same districts. The dual presence of Modi and Shah highlights the importance the national leadership is placing on the Bengal elections, aiming to build a narrative of development versus the alleged corruption of the state government.
