The Left Front Committee of West Bengal has released its highly anticipated second list of candidates for the 2026 Assembly Elections, naming 32 individuals across key constituencies. The most significant announcement is the fielding of advocate Srijeeb Biswas from the Bhabanipur seat. Biswas is set to turn the Bhabanipur contest into a high-profile triangular battle, challenging both Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari.
Another major strategic move in this list is the nomination of Shanti Giri from the Nandigram constituency. Nandigram, which remains a symbol of intense political rivalry between the TMC and BJP, will now see a determined Left presence to reclaim its lost ground.
