Bidhannagar Mayor Krishna Chakraborty resigns, another massive blow to TMC
Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge, directed by Aditya Dhar, has taken the box office by storm with a massive opening in India. The film collected around Rs 100 crore nett on its first day on Thursday, marking one of the biggest opening-day collections in Bollywood history.
The action drama had already generated significant momentum through its premiere shows on Wednesday, setting the stage for a record-breaking start. With Thursday’s earnings, the film’s two-day total is estimated to be close to Rs 150 crore nett in India, positioning it as one of the fastest-starting Hindi films at the domestic box office. Initial reports indicate that the film has outperformed several major releases in the Indian market. The Day 1 numbers place Dhurandhar: The Revenge ahead of blockbuster titles such as Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, Prabhas’s Adipurush, Salaar: Cease Fire – Part 1, Kalki 2898 AD, Jr NTR’s Devara: Part I, and Rajinikanth’s Coolie.
While the final box office figures are expected to be confirmed by Friday morning, early estimates from trade tracker Sacnilk suggest that the film has already achieved a historic benchmark. With strong audience turnout and advance bookings, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is now on course to rewrite records for Bollywood in the domestic market.
