Wife hacked to death in Nadia’s Kalyani, husband detained after violent attack

A shocking incident of alleged domestic violence has come to light from Kalyani in Nadia district, where a man has been accused of killing his wife following a family dispute. The incident reportedly took place on Sunday afternoon in the Shimurali area, triggering panic and outrage among local residents.

According to reports, an altercation broke out between the couple inside their home. During the dispute, the husband allegedly attacked his wife with a sharp weapon, leading to her death on the spot. The violent act created chaos in the neighbourhood as family members and locals rushed to the scene. When the victim’s sister-in-law attempted to intervene and save her, she was also allegedly attacked with the same weapon and sustained injuries. The injured woman was later provided medical treatment while the situation in the area remained tense following the incident.

Police reached the spot soon after receiving information about the attack and detained the accused. An investigation has been initiated to determine the exact circumstances behind the killing, with officials questioning family members and examining the events that led to the fatal assault.
