Dilip Ghosh on Monday, while campaigning in Kharagpur Town, launched a blistering verbal attack against the local police administration. He accused the Inspector-in-Charge (IC) of intimidating BJP workers and allegedly threatening them with violence if they did not support the Trinamool Congress (TMC).
During a public rally, Ghosh did not mince words, directly challenging the police's authority and their alleged threats of "shooting" opposition workers after the elections. In a display of his "Dabangg" persona, he mocked the officials, questioning the source of their power and warning that his presence would be enough to intimidate those trying to suppress his supporters.
The veteran leader also took aim at the local "mafia" and "goons" whom he claims are being utilized by the TMC to manipulate election results. Ghosh asserted that he has faced the most notorious elements of Kharagpur "eye-to-eye" in the past and is prepared to do so again. He reminded the crowd that during his previous tenure, he had "balanced the accounts" of these criminals and promised a similar crackdown if he is voted back to power.
