No eviction drive in Burrabazar & College Street, clarifies KMC Commissioner
Senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi was admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital late Tuesday night after she reportedly felt unwell. Hospital sources confirmed that the Rajya Sabha MP is currently undergoing treatment and her condition is being closely monitored by a team of doctors.
While the exact cause of her latest hospitalisation has not been officially disclosed, sources indicated that she is under observation as a precautionary measure. Family members, including Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, were present at the hospital following her admission.
This is not the first time this year that the veteran leader has been hospitalised. In January, she was admitted to the same hospital after experiencing respiratory discomfort. Medical evaluations at the time had indicated a mild exacerbation of bronchial asthma, attributed to cold weather conditions and high pollution levels in the national capital.
Doctors had earlier stated that her condition during the previous admission was stable and managed with appropriate medication, including antibiotics and supportive care. Given her medical history, hospitalisation was considered necessary to ensure close monitoring and timely intervention if required.
Sonia Gandhi, a senior-most figure in the Congress party and a seasoned parliamentarian, has had multiple hospital visits over the past year for various health concerns. Her current condition is being carefully observed, with doctors continuing treatment and assessment.
