BSF cancels all leaves of jawans for Bengal elections 2026

The Border Security Force (BSF) has reportedly cancelled the leave of its personnel and directed them to remain on duty until April 10 in view of the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections. The decision has been taken to ensure heightened security arrangements during the crucial electoral period in the state.

According to reports, BSF jawans who were on leave have been instructed to immediately report back to their respective units. The directive also states that no fresh leave applications will be approved during this period as security forces are being deployed extensively for election-related duties. The move comes as central forces are being mobilised across different districts of West Bengal to maintain law and order and ensure peaceful polling. The deployment is part of broader election security measures typically undertaken during Assembly elections in the state.

Security agencies are preparing for large-scale deployment in sensitive areas, with central forces expected to assist local administration and polling authorities. The directive to BSF personnel reflects the emphasis on maintaining strict vigilance and preventing any disturbances during the electoral process.
