Bengal Govt elevates IPS Ajay Mukund Ranade to DGP (Law and Order)
A tragic incident in Bengaluru has left a couple dead in what police suspect to be a case of suicide, after a man was found hanging inside his residence and his wife later jumped from the 17th floor of the same building. The deceased have been identified as Bhanu Chander Reddy and his wife Bibi Shaziya Siraj, both originally from Telangana and working in the private sector.
According to preliminary information, the incident came to light when Shaziya found the door of their room locked from inside and received no response despite repeated attempts to contact her husband. She alerted building security and neighbours, who forced the door open. Inside, Reddy was found hanging, prompting immediate shock and panic.
Soon after discovering her husband’s body, Shaziya reportedly jumped from the 17th floor of the residential building, resulting in her death. The couple had been married for around nine years and had reportedly lived together prior to their marriage. Early findings suggest that the couple had been facing frequent disputes, which may have contributed to the incident.
Police have registered separate cases of unnatural death and initiated an investigation into the circumstances leading to the tragedy. Authorities are also examining whether health issues faced by Reddy played any role. Post-mortem reports are awaited to establish further clarity.
The incident has once again highlighted concerns around mental health and domestic stress. Authorities have urged people facing emotional distress to seek help and reach out to available support systems, as investigations into the case continue.
