A security scare unfolded in Malda on Saturday when an unidentified drone was spotted near the helicopter of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, forcing a temporary halt in her departure and raising serious concerns about airspace safety during election campaigning. The incident occurred shortly after she addressed a public rally in Maltipur and was preparing to leave for Gazole.

According to officials, the Chief Minister noticed unusual drone activity while boarding her helicopter and paused on the steps to closely monitor its movement. Expressing concern over the incident, Mamata Banerjee questioned the intent behind the drone’s presence and called for strict monitoring. “Who is behind this needs to be monitored. The police must identify them,” she said, hinting at a possible conspiracy.
