No eviction drive in Burrabazar & College Street, clarifies KMC Commissioner
Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha has hit back at the Aam Aadmi Party after being removed as the party’s deputy leader in the Upper House, rejecting the allegations against him and calling them a “coordinated attack.” In a video statement, Chadha said he was compelled to respond before the claims gained credibility.
The party had accused him of avoiding criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, not backing a resolution against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, and raising trivial issues in Parliament. Responding to these charges, Chadha termed them false and challenged the party to provide evidence, particularly on claims that he failed to support Opposition walkouts.
On the allegation regarding the impeachment motion, Chadha pointed out that several other MPs had also not signed it, questioning why he was being singled out. He maintained that his focus in Parliament has been on raising public issues, including pollution, education and concerns related to Punjab.
Concluding his remarks, Chadha used a dialogue from the film ‘Dhurandhar’, saying, “Ghayal hoon, isliye ghatak hoon,” signalling a strong counter to the party’s move. The development comes after the party replaced him with another MP following concerns over his stance on key political matters.
