Amid intensifying political exchanges ahead of the Assembly elections, Locket Chatterjee on Saturday launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, alleging that she has lost public trust and is attempting to generate sympathy votes. Questioning the law and order situation in West Bengal, Chatterjee claimed that conditions remain poor despite the deployment of central forces across the state.
She alleged that the Chief Minister is trying to create an atmosphere that could lead to the cancellation of elections and the imposition of President’s Rule, which she believes is aimed at gaining political advantage. According to Chatterjee, such a scenario is unlikely to materialize, and she dismissed the possibility of elections being disrupted.
Highlighting concerns over voter lists, Chatterjee further claimed that the removal of alleged infiltrators’ names has led to anxiety within the ruling establishment. She argued that such developments have contributed to the current political narrative and reiterated that the electorate will ultimately decide the outcome through the democratic process.
