Decomposed body of missing man found in Delhi, murder case registered

The decomposed body of a 39-year-old man, who had been missing since Sunday, was recovered from an open field in Mungeshpur near Bawana in Delhi, prompting police to register a murder case. The deceased was identified as Pradeep, a resident known to local authorities, after his brother confirmed his identity. The discovery was made on Tuesday following a call to the police about an unidentified body lying in the area.

According to police, Pradeep had last been seen on Sunday afternoon when he went to a liquor shop with three associates. The group later moved towards the Mungeshpur area. At around 10 pm that night, he contacted his wife, informing her that his scooty had developed a puncture near Sohti–Kutubgarh Road and that he would return soon. However, his phone was switched off shortly after, and he could not be contacted again.

Concerned by his sudden disappearance, his family attempted to locate him but failed. On Tuesday, his wife approached the local police post and filed a missing complaint. Shortly thereafter, the body found in the field was identified as Pradeep. Police officials confirmed that the body was in an advanced state of decomposition, indicating that it had been lying there for some time.

Following the recovery, multiple police teams have been formed to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death and to identify those responsible. Officials stated that efforts are underway to trace the individuals last seen with the deceased and reconstruct the sequence of events leading to the incident.
