The Central Board of Secondary Education is set to declare Class 10 board results before Class 12 this year, marking a significant shift in its usual result schedule. According to a senior official, preparations for the Class 10 results are in the final stages, and the announcement is likely anytime after the second week of April. The move is expected to bring relief to lakhs of students awaiting their results across the country.
Officials indicated that the decision is part of a broader effort to streamline the academic calendar, especially with plans to introduce a twice-a-year examination system for Class 10. To accommodate this change, the board is aiming to release the Class 10 results earlier, potentially within April, allowing sufficient time to conduct the second round of examinations, which may begin around mid-May.
In contrast, students of Class 12 may have to wait longer, with results expected to be declared by the third week of May. The board and the Education Ministry are currently focused on ensuring timely and error-free result processing, with emphasis on maintaining accuracy and transparency in evaluation. Preparations are being closely monitored to meet the targeted timelines.
Providing an update on the examination process, CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj stated that the board exams were conducted smoothly across the country. Around 46 lakh students appeared for the Class 10 and 12 examinations, with no major complaints reported. The board ensured proper arrangements at all centres and implemented modern monitoring systems to maintain strict oversight during the exams.
Once declared, students will be able to check their results online by visiting the official CBSE websites and entering their credentials, including roll number, school number, date of birth, and admit card ID. In previous years, including 2024 and 2025, both Class 10 and 12 results were released on the same day in May, making this year’s staggered schedule a notable change in the board’s result declaration approach.
