PM will offer Anjali to Maa Durga this Ashtami in Kolkata, receives multiple invitations
Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a sharp political offensive in West Bengal, declaring that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would make the state “infiltration-free” if voted to power. Addressing election rallies across multiple locations, he asserted that the BJP had already “freed the country from terrorism and Naxalism” and would now address infiltration in the state.
In his remarks, Amit Shah also referred to religious and political controversies, alleging that statements made by certain opposition-linked leaders regarding the construction of a Babri mosque in Bengal would not be allowed. He claimed that such “dreams” would be defeated at the ballot box and reiterated that development and governance would replace what he described as divisive politics.
Targeting the ruling Trinamool Congress, Shah accused the party of corruption, including teacher recruitment and SSC-related irregularities, and warned of strict legal action after elections. He also used strong language against alleged “cut money” practices, stating that corrupt individuals would face consequences if the BJP comes to power in the state.
In addition, Shah spoke on social and policy issues, stating that the BJP government would enforce a Uniform Civil Code and take strict action against practices such as multiple marriages and “love jihad,” while also promising administrative reforms in North Bengal. He further criticised the state government’s handling of agricultural infrastructure, citing issues like lack of cold storage facilities affecting Malda mango production.
