ITBP jawan found bloodied inside Diamond Harbour school during election deployment

A central security deployment ahead of the West Bengal Assembly elections has been shaken after an Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) jawan was found in a bloodied condition inside a school premises in Falta, South 24 Parganas. The incident occurred at Dostipur High School, where central forces had been stationed as part of election duty arrangements.

The deceased has been identified as Konak Koch (41), a resident of Assam and a member of the ITBP A-One Group. According to police, his body was recovered from the school veranda late on Tuesday night. He was immediately taken to Diamond Harbour Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Preliminary information suggests that around 86 ITBP personnel were staying at the school for election-related deployment. After dinner, personnel had gone to sleep, and the incident reportedly came to light when another jawan discovered Koch lying in a bloodied condition on the veranda. He was rushed for medical attention, but could not be saved.

Police have registered a case of unnatural death and initiated a detailed investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and officials have stated that the final cause of death will be confirmed only after the autopsy report. Initial suspicion includes the possibility of an accidental fall, but no conclusion has been reached yet.
