The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted a fresh raid on the Behala residence of Sun Enterprise Managing Director Joy S. Kamdar on Sunday morning as part of an ongoing investigation linked to the ‘Sona Pappu’ case. Officials arrived early and had to wait nearly 40 minutes before gaining entry to the premises around 6:30 am.
Kamdar’s name had surfaced earlier during the investigation into the case, in which the main accused, ‘Sona Pappu’, has not yet been arrested despite being active on social media. The ED had previously searched Kamdar’s residence and recovered around ₹1.5 crore during that operation.
Following the recovery, Kamdar was summoned twice by the agency for questioning but did not appear, according to sources. The latest raid is seen as a continuation of the probe into financial links emerging from the case.
The ED is now examining connections and financial transactions associated with Kamdar as part of its wider investigation into the matter.
