Police seize 24 lakh cash from app bike near Strand Road, driver detained

During routine election surveillance in West Bengal’s Phase 1 polling, Kolkata Police seized ₹24 lakh in unaccounted cash from a bike cab rider at the Strand Road and Hare Street crossing under Hare Street Police Station limits. The interception was carried out by an SST team as part of intensified checks during the ongoing elections. Authorities confiscated the cash following standard procedures and have initiated further investigation and legal action to determine its source and purpose.
