Central forces raid TMC leader's house in Nandigram after Suvendu's complaint

Central forces conducted a raid at the residence of a Trinamool Congress leader in Nandigram following a complaint by BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari. The house of TMC leader Shahabuddin, a member of the Nandigram-1 block core committee, was searched amid allegations that he was involved in intimidating and influencing voters during the ongoing polling process.

The action followed a series of allegations made by Adhikari during his visits to multiple polling booths in Nandigram on the day of voting. He claimed that voters were being actively influenced by ruling party supporters and raised concerns over the presence of individuals with alleged criminal backgrounds near polling stations. He specifically named Shahabuddin, accusing him of preventing certain voters from reaching polling booths and questioned why such individuals were not taken into custody.

Adhikari also expressed dissatisfaction with the role of local authorities and Booth Level Officers, alleging lapses in maintaining a free and fair voting environment. He described the situation as one of voter suppression and urged central forces to take immediate action. Following these complaints, central forces carried out the search operation at Shahabuddin’s residence as part of efforts to address the allegations and maintain order during the election process.
