In view of the upcoming elections, Malda police have intensified action against illegal activities across the district, maintaining heightened surveillance and enforcement. Acting on specific intelligence inputs, Habibpur police station conducted a targeted raid on Friday night and successfully busted an illegal liquor selling racket operating in the area. During the operation, one person was arrested from the spot.
The arrested individual has been identified as Ravi Saha, a resident of the Iho Khoshbaspada area under Habibpur police station limits. According to police sources, he was allegedly involved in the illegal sale of liquor near ‘MLA Mor’, located close to Katalapukur Haat in Habibpur. Authorities stated that the operation was carried out after receiving credible information regarding the unlawful activity in the locality.
