On the final day of campaigning in Habra Assembly constituency, North 24 Parganas, authorities discovered eight fresh bombs near Dakshin Sarai Nimna Buniyadi Primary School. The explosives were found in a densely populated area, prompting immediate action from the police, who cordoned off the location and alerted the bomb disposal squad to safely neutralise the threat.
The incident has escalated tensions in the constituency as local residents expressed widespread fear and concern. Officials confirmed that the area was secured quickly, and investigations are underway to determine the origin of the explosives and the individuals responsible for placing them near a public educational institution.
Political parties have reacted sharply to the development. The Trinamool Congress accused the BJP of attempting to spread unrest and create panic ahead of polling, while the BJP countered by alleging that the TMC was deliberately staging fear to dissuade voters from participating.
