With the upcoming phase of the West Bengal Assembly Election 2026 drawing closer, election preparedness has reached its peak across constituencies. In the 154 Behala West Assembly constituency, a large number of polling personnel gathered since early morning at the Distribution and Collection Receiving Centre (DCRC) set up at Vivekananda College. The steady influx of officials reflected the scale and urgency of the final logistical arrangements ahead of polling.
From the early hours, polling personnel deployed for election duty began arriving at the DCRC to collect essential materials. Dedicated counters were arranged for the smooth distribution of ballot papers, Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) units, and other required documents. Under strict administrative supervision and tight security arrangements, officials were seen verifying documents and completing formalities before receiving their polling kits.
Following the distribution process, polling teams started departing in batches for their respective polling stations across the constituency. The administration ensured coordinated transport arrangements to facilitate their safe and timely movement. Officials emphasised that the streamlined process at the DCRC is crucial to maintaining efficiency and ensuring that polling begins without disruption.
