A fatal road accident in the Baharal Shibrampur area under Ratua police station claimed the life of a toto driver and left four passengers seriously injured on Tuesday morning. The incident occurred on National Highway 131 when a soil-laden tractor collided head-on with a passenger-carrying toto, triggering panic and tension in the locality.
The deceased has been identified as Minu Miyan (48), a resident of Baikunthpur in Baharal. According to reports, he was travelling from Baharal towards Achintala Haat with four passengers when the accident took place near Shivpur. A speeding tractor coming from the opposite direction rammed into the toto with such force that both vehicles overturned by the roadside.
Local residents rushed to the spot immediately after the collision and began rescue operations. All injured individuals were taken to Ratua Rural Hospital, where doctors declared Minu Miyan dead. The condition of the injured passengers is reported to be serious, and the incident has heightened concerns over road safety in the area.
