Punjab has been put on high alert after two explosions were reported near security installations in Jalandhar and Amritsar. The first incident occurred outside the BSF headquarters in Jalandhar, where a parked delivery scooter caught fire following an explosion, triggering panic in the busy area. No casualties were reported.
Hours later, a second blast took place near an Army camp in the Khasa area of Amritsar, close to BSF installations. Preliminary reports suggest that a motorcycle-borne individual may have hurled a grenade at the site. Security forces and police personnel rushed to both locations, and the areas were immediately cordoned off.
Police officials said investigations are underway, with CCTV footage being examined and individuals, including the scooter rider, being questioned. Forensic teams, along with bomb and dog squads, have been deployed to gather evidence and determine the exact cause of the explosions.
Authorities have maintained that it is too early to confirm the nature of the incidents. Security has been tightened across the state as agencies probe all possible angles, including the possibility of a larger conspiracy.
