The Kolkata Police arrested a local youth and recovered illegal firearms from his possession in the Bansdroni area. Acting on a precise tip-off regarding anti-social elements in the neighborhood, a dedicated police team raided the location and took a suspect, identified as Satyabrata Basu Roy, into custody directly from the spot.
During a thorough search conducted immediately after the interception, police officers recovered two high-caliber semi-automatic weapons from Roy's possession. Along with the firearms, four live cartridges were also found concealed on the suspect.
Following this, Satyabrata was immediately arrested under the relevant sections of the Arms Act. The police are now trying to find out the source of the weapons and what the arrested accused was planning to do.
