Lotus blooms in Falta as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wins re-poll with a landslide margin. As per the Election Commission, BJP candidate Debangshu Panda has secured a commanding victory with a margin of 1,09,021 votes.
With this victory, the total tally of the BJP in the West Bengal Assembly becomes 208. Falta's massive victory by the BJP is the highest margin victory in the West Bengal Assembly Election 2026. Before this, the Matigara–Naxalbari (AC 25) constituency recorded the highest margin of victory. Anandamay Barman of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured a decisive win by defeating his opponent with a massive margin of 1,04,265 votes, marking one of the most emphatic victories in the state.
In Falta, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate, Sambhu Nath Kurmi, came in second place with 40,645 votes. Following them is Abdur Razzak Molla of the Indian National Congress, who has managed to secure only 10,084 votes and remain third. While Trinamool's Jahangir Khan, who opted out just 2 days before the election, managed to secure a little over 7,000 votes.
