In Bihar, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and Minister for Revenue and Land Reforms and Sugarcane Industry Alok Mehta received death threats with casteist slurs. The minister complained about it at Patna Secretariat police station. According to the minister's complaint at the secretariat police office, he called on his official mobile number on January 23 around 3.15 pm, abused him with casteist words and threatened to kill him.
The caller's name on Truecaller on the minister's mobile was Deepak Pandey. Even after the minister hung up, the calls started coming again and again from the same number. When this number was blocked, the same person started calling from another number. This time Pappu Tripathi's name came up on Truecaller. Minister Alok Mehta demanded that he takes action against the accused in the case. The police are investigating the whole matter by registering a case. A search is underway for the person making the threat.
Two days ago, Mehta made a statement that brought him into the limelight. He said that earlier ten percent people were ringing temple bells and doing slavery to the British. When someone raises their voice in front of them, their voice is suppressed.
