Muzaffarpur hospital blaze kills 3 patients, leaves 20 injured
The West Bengal government will, for the first time, seek inputs from industrialists before finalising the state budget, following directions issued by Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari. The initiative aims to incorporate suggestions from industry stakeholders at the pre-budget stage to shape what is being described as the state’s first budget exercise under the new framework.
As part of the process, the Industry Secretary will collect written consultations from major industrialists and will also engage with chamber presidents and senior members of industry bodies. The objective is to gather structured feedback on economic priorities and policy requirements before the budget is drafted.
The state government has stated that it intends to make the upcoming budget impactful by incorporating industry feedback in advance rather than seeking inputs after the budget presentation. Officials have indicated that this marks a shift in the consultation process for financial planning in the state.
Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has directed that industrialists be given a platform to provide their suggestions directly to the government ahead of budget preparation, emphasising that their inputs will be considered during formulation rather than post-announcement.
