Bengal Govt elevates IPS Ajay Mukund Ranade to DGP (Law and Order)
A major anti-encroachment drive was carried out at the historic Mangla hat area, where businessmen allegedly occupying roadsides for commercial activities were removed by personnel from Howrah Police Station. During the operation, police officials cleared traders who were reportedly conducting business by forcibly encroaching upon public roads and seized goods belonging to several individuals operating from the occupied stretches. According to local sources, the drive was conducted to restore normal movement and remove unauthorized roadside occupation in the busy market area. Police personnel not only prohibited traders from resuming business on the encroached portions of the road but also issued strict warnings that legal action, including arrest, would be taken against anyone attempting to reoccupy the cleared areas or continue unauthorized commercial activities on public land.
