NIA searches Saokat Molla’s home and party office, son questioned in Bhangar blast case
The Calcutta High Court on Thursday directed the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to submit a report on its investigation into the arrest of Trinamool Congress leader and former West Bengal minister Sujit Bose in connection with the alleged municipality recruitment scam. Hearing Bose's petition challenging his arrest, a vacation bench of Justice Shampa Dutt (Paul) declined to grant any interim relief at this stage and instructed the central agency to place its investigation report before a regular bench after the conclusion of the ongoing summer vacation. The court did not specify a date for the next hearing. Bose was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on May 11 as part of its money laundering investigation linked to the alleged recruitment scam involving municipalities in West Bengal. The matter came before the court following Bose's challenge to the legality of his arrest and the ongoing proceedings against him in the case.
