9 terror suspects linked to Pak's ISI arrested,had planned attacks in Delhi, Mumbai

Delhi Police Special Cell has arrested nine suspected terrorists allegedly linked to a Pakistan-based network involving the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and elements of the Mumbai underworld. According to investigators, the accused were planning attacks on key installations and security personnel in Delhi, Mumbai and other major cities. The arrests were carried out during a coordinated operation following specific intelligence inputs. Officials alleged that the group was operating under the direction of handlers based across the border and had been assigned the task of carrying out targeted attacks aimed at creating panic and disrupting security.

Police stated that a cache of arms and explosives was recovered from the possession of the accused during the operation. The seized material reportedly includes sophisticated pistols, grenades and other items suspected to have been intended for terror-related activities. Preliminary investigations indicate that the accused were allegedly in contact with Pakistan-backed operatives and were receiving instructions regarding potential targets. Investigators suspect that the module was preparing attacks on vital installations and members of the security forces.

According to officials, the arrested individuals belong to different states, including Delhi, Maharashtra and Punjab, while some foreign nationals are also among those detained. Investigators are examining alleged links between the accused and the Mumbai underworld, which is suspected to have been used for logistics, funding and movement of operatives. Security agencies are currently analysing financial transactions, communication records and the wider network associated with the module, while efforts are underway to determine whether additional operatives are active elsewhere and whether reconnaissance of potential targets had already been conducted.
