Police recover 55 unaccounted-for Sabuj Sathi bicycles from Egra school during raid

Former Egra MLA Tarun Kumar Maity has come under fresh scrutiny after police recovered approximately 55 unaccounted-for government-issued Sabuj Sathi bicycles from Paniparul Mukteshwar High School, where he serves as Headmaster. Acting on information received from a confidential source, officers from Egra Police Station conducted a surprise raid on the school premises on Friday afternoon and recovered the bicycles. The incident has triggered significant discussion and controversy across the locality.

The recovery comes shortly after another controversy involving the former legislator. A few days earlier, eleven former MLAs and teachers from Egra had accused him of illegally retaining government-issued three-wheeled vehicles. Following those allegations, the administration recovered the vehicles in question.
