"Why no FIR against Amit Shah?" asks Abhishek as CID serves him fresh summon for June 16
Arrested Trinamool Congress leader Sabyasachi Dutta faced protests outside Bidhannagar North Police Station on Tuesday, where eggs and cow dung were thrown as he was leaving the premises. To avoid being hit, he was seen covering his face with paper while seated inside his vehicle.
After undergoing a medical examination, Sabyasachi Dutta spoke to reporters and rejected the extortion allegations against him. He described the charges as false and fabricated, claiming that the complainant had previously been arrested by police and that members of the complainant’s family had approached him at the time seeking assistance in obtaining bail. He stated, “If anyone can prove that I have taken even a single rupee illegally, I am ready to accept the gallows. This is political vendetta.”
The complainant, Madhusudan Chakraborty, alleged that he had first lodged a complaint in 2018 but no action was taken at that time, prompting him to file a fresh complaint. According to the complainant, he had been asked to pay ₹1.05 crore as extortion money. Meanwhile, BJP workers staged a protest outside the police station carrying eggs and cow dung, while a section of the Trinamool Congress alleged that a conspiracy was behind the incident.
