Two men were arrested after a shooting incident in the Bichali Ghat area of Shibpur on Monday night, where a young man narrowly escaped injury. Police identified the accused as Sheikh Abdullah and Alai Jahid, both residents of the PM Basti area of Shibpur. A firearm was also recovered during the investigation.
According to police, the incident allegedly occurred following a dispute over the distribution of money among a group. Investigators said Sheikh Abdullah and Alai Jahid allegedly opened fire on Mohammad Arwaz after an argument escalated. The shooting took place in the Bichali Ghat area late on Monday night.
The two accused were arrested and produced before the Howrah Court on Tuesday. Police have sought their custody to continue the investigation and gather further details regarding the circumstances that led to the firing. Authorities are also examining the role of the recovered firearm in the incident.
